Kiserian

At Kiserian near St Patrick's School in the home of the Gichangas we erected a Windcruiser wind turbine CS18TDR 1800 watts on 20/10/06. The turbine stands on a 40 feet lattice tower. There is a 60 feet deep well where we installed a Shurflo water pump. We are supplying 240vac to the home from a Su-kam pure sine wave 1.4kva inverter.

The home on the Ngong Hills facing Nairobi City. Ngong Hills has the highest altitude in Nairobi and highest wind speed.

The home with the turbine flying.

The Power house constructed under the water tank utilised the four pillars holding the tank.

Work begins as Jessey breaks the ground where the tower will be standing.

Piecing up the tower was fun as we could see Kiserian town from this height.

Tower up and ready for the turbine. The black color was used to match the rest of the metal in the home.

Alex assembling the prop. This is the partitioned-hollow fiberglass blades prop -- super strong light blades.

The 60 feet well and old bucket pulley system.

Jessey and Morgan fitting the shurflo pump.

The team lowering the pump with galvanized pipes. We had tried PVC conduits the previous day but they could not handle the pressure.

Pipe joint.

First water drops from the tank. The tank is about 100 feet away from the well.
